House Renovation

Finally paid earnest deposit to house owner today (25.6.09). So it's confirm, we finally bought a house! In about 2-3 weeks more, we'll get the keys. So...the next most important part is renovation! Well...with limited budget, we'll go for minimal. I wanna do the tiles first coz if everything move in already, then will be too hassle to move out again to do the tilling. I wanna go for a 2' x 2' tiles. It comes with 1' x 1'. Originally it looks like this:

But it seems like not bad to have the original ones, with the right kind of furnitures, it can looks good as well:

With the idea of minimal & contemporary, we'll have something like:

We have very small rooms though :( Even master bedroom also very small. I guess that's why the living room and kitchen looks more spacious.

I think she just likes the color scheme. Anyway, this ain't gonna fit in...but will try to make it something similar.

But this one look a bit messy. Anyway, me and hubby wants it to be wood flooring :)

As for kitchen, it's a L-Shape kitchen. Actually I want those dark wood tone but read a feng sui article on a mag, it says kitchen represent the career & money of tenants and kitchen elements are water and fire. So the recommended colors for kitchen cabinets are not dull dark colors. It should be blue, white, red, orange. So I guess I'll go for orange:

As for toilet, I guess can't do much coz it's really small. I would definitely want a bathtub in it but dunno can fit in or not. If can fit in, then it would be not much space to move around. Doesn't matter, don't think so 2 people will use the toilet at the same time since got 2 toilets. I like blue color scheme in toilet.
